Good Afternoon to All MSC members

Sorry for any mistakes and the length of this email (due to pictures) and for those who “delete” or don’t read to the bottom of the email there is no food at club night this week Friday 13th or Friday 20th

Internal Club Competition

What started as a little Sunday afternoon get together with 3-4 players having a couple of games of squash and a beer some months ago to what we witnessed last Sunday, with Vaughan Hill organising a internal club competition and masterminding a slightly different format to the normal Monrad scoring system, which in turn wetted the appetite of nearly 20 MSC members to register an interest.

Special mention and thanks to the following MSC members

Vaughan Hill For all his hard work behind the scenes and on the day in organising the event as without him this would not have happened

Martin Townend , for turning up to watch and support the event only to end up marking every game played on court 1.

Brendon Touhey for suppling the Gurkha Curry for all competitors to enjoy after the matches.

John Mahoney for stepping in at the very last minute to fill a gap in the plate playoffs so that all the competitors in the play playoff’s had 4 games

The following photos shows that MSC club squash is thriving and last Sunday s competition was enjoyed by everyone that attended

The overall winner was Graeme Doherty with yours truly runner up, and the plate was won by Moria Varrall with Linzi Reynolds chasing her all the way to finish plate runner up.

The day was a completed success with everyone enjoying the Squash, Food and Beverages with squash being the ultimate winner.

We are all looking forward to the next internal competition, its going to be bigger with more players and even more fun, come on Vaughan 2025 the MSC 90th birthday, lets go large…. well done everyone it was great to be part of a squash community that other squash clubs would be hard to match

Carpark Blue Cones and Entrance Door

With the success of the introduction of the Blue carpark cones I would like to remind you all that it would be very helpful if you all replaced the cones back to the middle of the carparking bay once you have moved your car off the carpark, a lot of members are just driving off leaving the cone stranded in no-man’s land exposing the parking bays to rouge parkers.

Please remember to double lock the front door, on many occasions I have found the club un-locked (bottom cub lock) and no members in the club building, if you are the last person in the club any time of the day or night an please double lock the front door when you leave the club

Friday night is club night

Courts available from 5.20pm continuing until late, just turn up, Play and Socialise with other likeminded club players.

There will be a 8-minute time limited to each pair of players on court, straight into warming up and then playing with no limit on where the score ends up, once the 8 minutes has been reached the alarm will sound and the next 2 players can go on court to play their 8 minutes.

A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending regardless of how many games they play

Due to the chef being away the next 2 Fridays there will be NO Food Available

Christmas Eve Morning @ MSC

Keep your “Mince Pies” open for details of the Christmas Eve (morning) when you must do that last minute shopping trip into town or just need to get out the house for half hour, pop into the club have a chat with “Hurty” over a ice cold calming beverage, grab a complimentary Bacon or Sausage sandwich or Warm Mince Pie washed down with Mulled Wine.

Regards
