Box league no 6 (of 6) update 23/11/22

Hi Everyone,
With the end of the 2022 season rapidly approaching I urge you all to get your box games completed before Thursday 8th December as the final play off’s for 4 players will be played on Friday 9th December during Club Night and someone will be crowned “Maidstone Squash Box Champion 2022”

I hope to start the play off’s as close to 5.30 as possible on the Friday, each player playing 3 games, best of 5, par scoring to 11, in the event of two players with the same points after 3 matches it will be a 1 game shoot out, first to 15 to find our 2022 champion.

Check your points tally to see if you will make the top 4 players, there is at least 10 players that could mathematically reach the final

There will be a Full Fanfare presentation after the final match has been played in the bar area to our Club Box Champion

Box League Rule Clarification

A “No Show” If a player fails to turn up for an arranged match, they forfeit the game 3-0 walkover, This is a club league rule.

A “Cancellation” at least 24hrs before an arranged match, as there is no club rule that covers this at present, the sportspersons rule should be applied where neither player gains the points. For the 2023 season I would like your thoughts on what should happen if this situation arises so that it can be added to the rules going forward in 2023 all suggestions to darrent@blazesigns.co.uk

It has been noted that other than “club night” people are still parking in the front bays (Saturday to Thursday) blocking the empty rear ones. Could I remind you all to use the bays nearest to the club first and then use the front bays. If you are just using the parking bays to do a bit of shopping you MUST use the back bays first so as not to block in other members that should be in the club playing, and if you do have to block another member in then please put a contact number next to your membership badge so that you can be contacted by the person you have blocked in.
