Weekly Club News

Welcome to this week’s news letter

MSC Box Leagues are “live”

The MSC Box Leagues went “Live” on Monday 15th May and will run until Sunday 18th June. All the boxes look very competitive and there should be some very close games indeed, box 1 in particular looks very interesting with Nick Peel still the man to beat, can John “Hoggers” Hogwood take Nicks crown…… or can Martin Townend, Paul Sutton or Brendan Touhey play the game of the month to pull off a shock win, we will have to wait and see. Good Luck to everyone playing in the boxes, enjoy your games and remember to upload your scores on the web or Box sheets on the notice board.

Team Matches

The Team summer leagues kick off last night (Tuesday) with the Maidstone 1 team securing a very good win over Park Langley 3, this 4 nil wins put Maidstone 1 at the top of the Div 5 (for the time being) a great team performance all-round, just check out those scores, especially Daren T’s Next Team match away to Sundridge park Tuesday 30th May

MSC Bar

The bar will be open as follows

Wednesday 5pm until 8.30pm

Thursday 6pm until 8.30pm

Friday 2pm until Late

These times will be flexible due to the Bar person playing on court, but as a rule if “Hurty” is in the club and we have members wanting a cold beer or soft drink the bar is open

Health and Safety @ MSC

You may have noticed that some new Smoke Alarms have been fitted around the club, Fire evacuation routes have been posted on notice boards, Fire extinguishers have been mounted onto walls and some addition fire related signage placed above doors and onto electrical cupboards, this is all to do with a Fire Rick Assessment that has taken place within the club by the local Fire Brigade Officer. I am happy to report that we as a club are deemed to be in a good place overall, but with a recommendation to upgrade and move our existing fire control panel from the old Cellar to a location more accessible, these recommendations have been taken onboard by the committee and will be implemented in the very near future.

Friday Night is Club Night

As usual the club night will start at 5.30pm until late playing a quick-fire game of first to 15 (American scoring) then rotating against other club players. A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending

Food this week is a limited edition “Cottage (type) Pie” (the mouth chef is trying something different this week) we also have the “Bang Bang Sausage Surprise” with a veggie option available

Future Events @ MSC

Would like a bit of feedback on possible numbers for the B-B-Q please before we go ahead and commit to the event

FA Cup Final B-B-Q we are looking into having a B-B-Q on Saturday June 3rd where members and their friends can come down to the club tuck into some fine B-B-Q Tucker, washed down with a cold beer or two and watch Man City V Man United on the small screen (TBC)

Look forward to see you all down the club in the very near future,

Regards
