Your weekly update on how our two Maidstone squash teams got on last week and there’s more to celebrate again this week

Maidstone 1 V Beckenham 3 Score 3 – 1

Another great win for Maidstone’s first team winning at home to Beckenham 3 Mike Watson having a 5-game battle against Cathy Ruffle with Cathy eventually coming out on top. With Nic Wallder, Dominic Middleton-Frith and John Hogwood all coming away with straight forward 3-0 wins. This team win has elevated Maidstone 1 to 2nd in the division, knocking on the door of that number 1 slot just 3 points behind the leaders and local rivals Mote 2

Maidstone 2 V Bexley 7 score 2-2 (Maidstone 2 win on count back)

Maidstone 2 dug in to scrape their second win of the season against a feisty Bexley 7 team, after some questionable marking in all the games it ended 2-2 in matches, with the count back system having to be used, Maidstone 2 won by just a single point to take the win and the addition 5 points. Again Dinesh showed his present form against Paul Roberts to win 3-0, Bill Thompson taking a 3-0 win with both Darren Trebble and Paul Wilson not firing on all cylinder on the night and both losing 3nil coming up against Billy Wizz (jamie Perfitt) and the young hotshot Josh Deubert Maidstone 2 are 8th in Division 5
