Welcome to this week’s news letter

Windows and Doors

With the much warmer weather that we are experiencing at the moment (it is summer after all) can I remind all members to check that all windows are closed if they are the last to leave the club.

The Emergency Exit Door in the bar area is ALARMED and will set off the alarm if opened whilst the Bar is closed, it is only disarmed if the Bar is open, if in doubt “Do Not Open It”

If you are the last to leave the club please make sure that main door is double locked, this sometimes is a bit tricky, but with a little wiggle of the key it will lock and make the Club that bit more secure

Squash footwear

A reminder to all new members that have joined the club in recent months that only the correct Footwear is to be worn on the courts, that means court shoes specifically designed for Squash, we do not want to see outdoor/designer trainers being worn on the courts at any time. Sports Direct (Maidstone) do a few of very reasonable priced Non-Marking sole Court shoes.

Court Start and Finish Times

Please start and finish your games at the correct times and on the correct court you have booked there could be other players that have booked that court waiting to start their games, this is only really a problem generally weekdays between 5pm and 8pm.

To help everyone a new clock will be installed on the centre column between the court doors downstairs and new signage identifying which court is which will also be installed on the doors so that players are playing on the correct court, we have 2 clocks that are visible from the courts on the same column upstairs in the bar area so you don’t have to keep coming off court to check the time

MSC box squash leagues

The leagues will finish at the end of this week with the box sheets being removed on Monday night (19th) please make sure that all scores are either on the web page or on the sheets on the notice board.

The new Boxes will be publish at a later date and with the summer months upon us we will extend the time to get all matches completed

Friday Night is Club Night

As usual the club night will start at 5.30pm until late playing a quick-fire game of first to 15 (American scoring) then rotating against other club players. A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending

We still have a 3 “Beef and Ale Potato topped pie” 1 “Bang Bang Sausage Surprise + rice” and a single “Chicken Curry’s + Naan bread” Due to a slight down turn of numbers for club night I won’t be doing a veggie option this week.

Hurtys Bar @ MSC

All Bar prices will be reviewed during the next week or so, it maybe that there will be a small increase on some of the drinks and snacks in the near future, our present prices can be viewed at the Bar and on notice boards around the club

Tuesday 5.30pm until late (Team Match)

Wednesday 5.30pm until late

Thursday 5.30pm until late

Friday 3pm until late (Club Night)
