MSC box squash leagues

Thank you to all the squash players that have completed all their box games, please let me know if you haven’t submitted your score on the web page as I have now removed the leagues from the notice boards.

The new leagues will be published by Friday 30th June and I hope we can extend the time period that you will have to play your new matches during the summer months / School Holidays (July and August)

Court Start and Finish Times

A new clock has be installed on the centre column between the court doors downstairs and new signage identifying which court is which will also be installed on the doors so that players are playing on the correct court at the correct time, we have 2 clocks that are visible from the courts on the same column upstairs in the bar area so you don’t have to keep coming off court to check how much time is outstanding. Please start and finish your games at the correct times and on the correct court you have booked there could be other players that have booked that court waiting to start their games, this is only really a problem generally weekdays between 5pm and 8pm.

Hurtys Bar @ MSC

There is a new Bar Price List that can be viewed at the Bar and on notice boards around the club, this is unfortunate but it is a very small increase on just a few of our available beers

The Bar this week (w/c 19th) will be open as follows

Tuesday 5.30pm until late (team match V Tunbridge Wells SRC 4)

Wednesday 5.30pm until late

Thursday 5.30pm until late

Friday 3pm until late

Friday Night is Club Night

As usual the club night will start at 5.30pm until late playing a quick-fire game of first to 15 (American scoring) then rotating against other club players. A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending

The mouthy Barman (Hurty) is working on a summer menu to introduce to Club Night so we will not have any food available this week. You will notice that we have had to increase the price of food at club nights to £7.50, you will still get the quality food that you have always received and it will still come with a Drink of your choice.

MSC Squash Team News, match update

The team played away to Poult Wood 5 last Thursday with mixed results, playing on extremely warm courts, with the summer league team rotation, this week’s team consisted of Dominic Middleton-Firth, Dinesh Bansel, Bill Thompson and Darren Trebble. Both Dinesh and Bill took a win apiece but both Dominic and Darren didn’t really turn up on the night and by their own admission under performed,

Some one has left the below water bottle in the club, Hurty has it behind the bar if anyone wants to claim it back.

Squash footwear

A reminder to all new members that have joined the club in recent months that only the correct Footwear is to be worn on the courts, that means court shoes specifically designed for Squash, we do not want to see outdoor/designer trainers being worn on the courts at any time. Sports Direct (Maidstone) do a few very reasonable priced Non-Marking Court shoes.
