Box Leagues

The Box leagues went live last Friday 10th November and will run until 17th December.

We have a small clerical error (not like me) that I left our 2022 champion Brendan Touhey out of the box leagues, this has now been rectified and his name appears in Box 2 on both the web site and paper copy on the notice board.

As some of you know we run a Grand Final Box league play offs to find a Club Box League Champion, at the end of 2022, Brendan Touhey come out eventual winner but I believe that there will be some very serious challenges to his crown this year.

To qualify for the play-offs all the games won (not matches) by every player that has played this year across all the boxes will be added up to get a grand total for each player and the top 4 or 6 players (tbc) will be asked to attend a play off on Friday 5th Jan 2024 to contest the grand finale, which will also kick off the new MSC Box League 2024 season.

Car Park Passes

2023/2024 Car passes are now available to all members that have paid there 2023/2024 membership these can be collect from the Bar, the old red, green, post-it notes and photocopied versions will not be valid after Thursday November 30th, any car displaying the old version, photocopied or post-it notes after this date will be liable to receiving a PCN.

Quiz Night

Many thanks for all the members and their friends that turned up at the quiz night last Saturday night, the quirky quiz master was very different to what a lot of people was expecting which made for a really fun evening, and we hope that everyone that attended enjoyed themselves.

Thanks to both Claire for arranging the quiz master and Brendan for openning and hosting the bar in my absents.

We will certainly host another fantastic quiz night in the early part of 2024.

Hurty’s Bar

We have introduced 3 new non-alcoholic beers for the Christmas period, Peroni (0.5%) Guinness 0.0 and Specked Hen (0.5%) are now available from the Bar along with all your usual favourites. We have had to have a slight price increase to a couple of our beers due to retail costs but with no beer costing more than £3 its still incredibly good value for money, the new price list will be posted on notice boards and at the bar.

Friday night is club night

As usual the club night will start at 5.30pm until late playing a quick-fire game of first to 15 (American scoring) then rotating against other club players. A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending

Like the absents of the Cheese on top of the cottage Pie last week there will be no food available this week as the Mouthy Chef is on another squash tour this time in Belgium... The bar this week will have a touch of glamor, sophistication and elegance with the return of Linzi being your host for the evening.
