Good Afternoon All MSC members

Quiz Night

The brilliant quiz master Ben Crozier, will be running the quiz night on Saturday 15th June @ 7pm in the club bar area

Please requester your interest at Hurty’s Bar or with Darren at darren.trebble@yahoo.co.uk , we had over 40 members attend last time so let me know if you are attending and if you are entering a team of 2-4 or 6 persons, cost per quizzer is again just £5.

Friday night is club night

Courts available from 5.20pm continuing until late, just turn up, Play and Socialise with other likeminded club players.

There will be a 10-minute time limited to each pair of players on court, straight into warming up and then playing with no limit on where the score ends up, once the 10 minutes has been reached the alarm will sound and the next 2 players can go on court to play there 10 minutes.

A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending regardless of how many games they play

Food this week is again Cheese Topped (it happened last week) Cottage Pie

Parking Cones

Please keep up the good work you are all doing by moving the cones when parking and replacing them when leaving, if you see the cones have been moved or knocked over please replace them back to the middle of the bay.

Your help is much appreciated

Hurty with his Amsterdam Classic 2024 Runners up Trophy

As a few of you know that Hurty (Me, yours truly) attended yet another of Joe Magor organised squash competition last weekend, this time on the outskirts of Amsterdam @ the Frans Otten Stadion (yes that is spelt right) a truly fantastic facility with 21 squash courts, 6 indoor Padel courts, 5 indoor tennis courts and 15 outdoor tennis courts.

With over 90 players from across the UK and Holland entered this was going to be Hurtys biggest challenge to reach the final and play on a ¾ glass court, a strange configuration with a white solid front wall, tinted glass side walls and clear glass back wall.

Hurty, (Me) did make the final winning 5 of my 6 games, but was beaten firstly by the court (horrible, black ball tinted glass, not a great combination) and then by Jack Murgatroyd 2-0

Great weekend and I totally recommend these types of 1 day competition to all MSC players, they are great fun, you’re playing other players at your level, and it will improve your squash, so keep an eye on the notice board as we advertise all the 1 day tournaments organised by Joe Magor or just ask me and I will happily talk you though a typical 1 day competition.
