Weekly Club News

Welcome to this week’s news letter

Main Entrance Door

We are having a small problem with the main entrance door both not shutting on its own accord and members not checking if its properly closed and locked behind them once they have either entered or exited the club. Could I therefore just reminder everyone to just look back over their shoulder to make sure that the door has closed securely behind them.

“Rhythm and Blues” Club Social Night

On Saturday night “The Muddies” performed a fantastic set of rhythm and blues music and songs in the club bar area to a very appreciative audience. So, a massive thank you goes out to Colin Duce and his band for putting on this free Gig for Maidstone squash club, it will be fair to say that bar was rocking and I am sure we had passers bye dancing in our carpark to the great sound they could hear from our bar area “Thank You Colin” you will be asked to come back very soon to perform again.

Box Leagues

I have now removed the box leagues score sheets from the notice board, if anyone has not registered thier score on the booking system or on the score sheets please let me know as I will be compiling the next set of club box games shortly. As always if anyone wants to join the boxes please let me know in the next 7 days so I can include you in leagues.

Box 5 We had some very close matches with Ian Watson and Russell Olly separated by just 1 point in box 5 that would have been close match to watch

Box 4 Nigel Millins made a good solid return to box squash winning all his box 4 games, it will be that little bit harder up in box 3 for Nigel

Box 3 Battles aplenty in box 3 with Geoff Bew coming out on top with a convincing win over Darren Trebble, but both will meet again in box 2, who will come out on top !!!

Box 2 With the hotly fancied Ian Turvey unable to play his matches due to personal commitments this let Paul Sutton step up to the plate to win box 2 and gain a well-earned promotion back into box 1.

Box 1 Nick Peel once again was the cream of Box 1, John Hogwood kept nick honest, but with nick playing some very nice squash at the moment he is going to be hard to dislodge him off that top spot especially now with young gun Harrison Seal out of squash indefinitely (2024 earliest, hope all goes well with the operation H) its going to be left to the rest of us to give it our best short it beating Nick

Friday Night is Club Night

As usual the club night will start at 5.30pm until late playing a quick-fire game of first to 15 (American scoring) then rotating against other club players. A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending

Food this week will be.....

“Chicken Madras, Rice + Naan”

“Mushroom Korma Rice + Naan”

Racket Grips and Balls

Karakal squash Grips £2.60, Dunlop squash balls £2.90 while stocks last, Karakal Black and Dunlop Blue Racket balls £4 (black) and £3.80 (Blue) These are now available to purchase from the Bar

Well done everyone for playing your games and supporting the club you are breathing new life into the club on every level

Look forward to seeing you all down the club in the very near future,

Regards
