MSC Squash Box Leagues

The new Box leagues will be going live on the My-courts booking app on Thursday 7th September, paper leagues will be posted onto the notice board sometime Friday 8th September, the leagues will run right up to the 23rd October.

Boxes 4 and 5 have been increased to 6 players this month due to a couple of temporary withdrawals but they all look very competitive especially box 1 with Nigel Millins climbing thru the lower leagues to his well-earned place in box 1, Box 2 or should I call it the “Fincham Box” with 3 family members there could be some friendly fireworks Pre-Nov 5th…… Wishing all players the best for the month, don’t forget we will be running the Box league champions play-off in December to decide who is the 2023 MSC Box League Champion,

Don't forget we implement a 2 up and 2 down process i.e…… the bottom 2 players in League 1 will drop to league 2, The top 2 players in league 2 will go up to league 1, The bottom 2 players in league 2 will drop to league 3, etc this process will be applied across all 6 box leagues, if two players end up on the same points in a league then the player that won that match against the player with the same points will be promoted.

Games are played too 11 (eleven), if the game is 10-10 you must win by 2 (two) clear points, American scoring best of 5 games (or first to 3)

Friday Night is Club Night

Slightly different feel to club night from this Friday as the “Grumpy Mouthy Chef” “Hurty” to his friends is away for 4 weeks “Down Under” visiting family, Not returning to club night until Friday 6th October, needless to say that there will be no cooked food available over the next few weeks and the bar will be Hosted by a number of volunteers in Hurty’s absents, please continue to support club night in the way that you all do.

As usual the club night will start at 5.30pm until late playing a quick-fire game of first to 15 (American scoring) then rotating against other club players. A £2 light fee will be charged for all players attending

When it’s gone its Gone

What a success “Brewdog Lost” proved to be, selling out before the end of club night, thank you all for drinking the bar dry of this very moreish beer. We will source another beer for the next “when its gone its gone” night on Friday 6th October
